Work it out!

So yes, I'm a bum. me and Missy both signed up for the gym two weeks ago. and everything was going great until tonight. i just lost all desire to go. I don't want to do it anymore. this is more verbalization of thoughts I'm having trying to understand myself.

I think a lot of it stems in the fact that whenever i try losing weight and getting into shape i go for at least 2 weeks to 2 months (which if you do everyday is a LOT of work) i went to the gym every day for the last 2 weeks, minus Sunday's. but i lost 2 pounds in 2 weeks even though i changed my eating habits pretty drastically(for the better) and was now burning at least 500-700 calories per workout. if you think about it that is a lot of hard work.

2 pounds?

seriously?

that's less than 1 percent of my body weight.

all my clothes are fitting just as tight so it's not like I'm changing fat into muscle (muscle weighs more than fat argument invalid) and i am not trying to be rude but i lose more weight in one trip to the restroom.

so in my analytically based mind I'm trying to rationalize spending x amount of dollars a month to spend an hour and a half per day (that's 9 hours a week) to just "feel" a little more healthy.

so I'm at a size in clothes i don't like and a weight i dislike but feel like there isn't much i can do to change that.

i think in my mind I'm wishing there was a regimen that didn't cost $100 a month that was guaranteed to take at least 2 pounds off a week. if you followed it exactly. if someone had such an item, i would be on that like green on grass.

that might get me to my goal in less than a year. since i'm that overweight. i'm 60 pounds over my post mission weight. so yeah. trying to psycho myself into it again.

Blah!

I have no idea what i want to write. Nothing eventful has really happened recently. No new news about baby. no new news at work. no new news at home for mommy. we are just doing the day to day thing.

oh i got one!

So missy's dad is John Drasso. this is a picture of him.
anyways, when John is out in public, people tell him a lot that he reminds them of someone famous. some actually come up with an actual name. one of the most popular actors is joe mantegna. seen below.
Just so you can remember where you have seen his face before it was probably on "three amigos." he plays the producer who fires the three amigos in the beginning of the movie. he also does the voice for "fat tony" on the simpsons (that was for you emily). Melissa just remembers one of her favorites, "baby's day out"

yeah, that's it.

Girl's Night!

Okay, so i thought i would take dibs on this one so Missy couldn't falsify what actually happened at girls night for Missy, her sister, and me.

On the way to Utah we stopped to stay the night with Missy's sister Shelly. Shelly is Brit's age and is a social worker with Clark county (Las Vegas) adoption services. the first time we stayed with Shelly as a married couple a few months back, we spent most of the night sitting on her bed, chatting about stuff that most girls chat about and eating ice cream from the carton. (no we did not paint our toenails!)

So this last visit, while we were there we kind of planned to do it again. Unbeknownst to me, Shelly and Missy planned a wardrobe diving session for this visit. Missy and I sat on her bed as we went through lots of her clothes deciding what looked great on her and what needed to be donated to DI. it was like we created our own "what not to wear" show. It was great because she ended up with a lot of really cool outfits.

The fun part about it was, Shelly is not a bad dresser, she actually made quite a few good purchases. The only mistake she would make was to keep the article of clothing a little past it's prime. and who can blame her considering she lives in Logandale. this is the same place where when Missy lived there they raised 12 pigs in 3 years to maturity(about 250 lbs each). Missy was responsible for one pig specifically every year. named "Oreo", "petunia", "Kermit", and "breakfast" to name a few.

anywho... umm... where was I?

so shelly is awesome. she made us a deal that if we wanted to actually stay with her, the only way she would let is if we stayed in her bed because missy is pregnant. perks of being a father to be :) and logandale gets COLD. so we slept in her bed with flannel sheets. you have to understand what her top sheets are though. we get in the flannel sheets. then there is the next blanket which is that really really soft kind. then over that is the electric blanket. over that is the jean quilt she made out of her old high school jeans. and over that is another quilt she made.

best night of sleep i got in a long long time.

so one last thing we did was go pick up a stroller from some old family friends of Missy's that are done having kids. Love hand me downs. so this is a picture of shelly and missy grabbing it. (only one of shell i got)

Weekend Update

Okay, So it's been awhile since either me or Melissa wrote. I think the main reason i don't write more is I feel I have to put down a picture or something, but i think putting pictures on here is such drag. i know it's only a few clicks but still... i would rather take the 5 minutes it takes to write this and not the 20 it takes to write this and put pictures arranged nicely.

so yeah, i'm trying to think of everything we have done since the last post. I will make a little list that summarizes and maybe me or missy can expand later either on our whim or your request.
  • We went to Utah and I taught my Sister-in-law how to snowboard at canyons.
  • While on the way to utah we stayed with a different Sister in Law in Logandale, NV. We pretty much had a girls night trying on clothes and eating ice cream out of the carton, but yes, i know, i'm not a girl.
  • While in Utah we stayed two nights with the Gibby's and they introduced us to an awesome show, "criminal minds."
  • At work, I am now working with only huge accounts like Macy's and Nordstrom's but covering the three companies Metal Mulisha, Lost, and Rusty.
  • We got memberships to 24 hour fitness down our street, which we are LOVING. We go at least once a day.(missy wanted to clarify it is 6 times a week)
  • My cousin Josh came and was my trainer for a night, and helped me and my dad figure out a routine we could do to lose weight. (i'm about 60 pounds over my post mission weight[40 of which since she got pregnant] because i have been trying to get as much food in us as possible since she couldn't keep everything down)
  • We visited Rachel (Josh's wife) and their son Conner who is like the coolest kid ever. I have met a lot of happy kids in my life, but this kid beams non-stop.
  • Brittany came and visited for a few days and we got to sit and laugh with her for a few nights.
  • Missy is starting to show.
  • Tonight we actually saw her stomach move from the baby kicking from within.
  • We are about half way done watching season 2 of "bones" with missy's brothers.
  • Missy is finally feeling awesome more than she is feeling sick which is great! (and she just told me to add she is finally eating just as much as me).
  • We went to sushi last night and waited to be seated for 1 hour. "you and I sushi" is a great lunch place, never go there for dinner, their waiters and hosts SUCK.
  • missy has shown how although 5 years younger, she is the mature responsible adult by now tackling the family finances and accounting. i'm a screw up because all i do is work everyday and that's it. i come home and she is still working at making our home perfect.
  • missy has passed the 5 months pregnant mark!!!!
