Emergency Room's suck

So yeah, we spent our friday in the emergency room. In all honesty once we got in it was great. But we waited for 3 hours just to get Missy admitted to be treated. Before going to the Eroom we went to an appointment with Missy's OB/GYN to see how the baby was and how Missy was doing overall and if she needed to go be admitted to the hospital or just visit the E room. The doctor said because Missy can sometimes get food down and hasn't lost an EXTREME amount of weight it would be better just to get some IV in her and go home. So because of lots of prayers and such we know she was being watched over and all her bloodwork and stuff in the hospital came back great. so everything else is good, except that Missy still has morning sickness all day. Missy says its morning sickness because she can tell how much she is going to throw up that day by how she feels in the mornings.

The funnest part about being in the emergency room was getting a visit from Missy's dad. we were pretty bored just sitting there watching tv, and John came and totally made us laugh with a few stories and calmed me down especially. (missy does okay with emergencies since she's had so many more than i have. I always tell people that missy is either suicidal, a complete klutz, or completely reckless. and i know its not the first two)

anywho. life is good, and Missy and the baby are doing splendid. So for those of you that knew, thank you so much for your prayers. We know that they were huge in helping missy and the baby. and for those of you that didn't know, the only people that found out were around as we tried to get my work off and get her to the hospital.

First Picture!

So this is the first picture of our baby! that's it's head to the right side and he/she is looking straight at you. his/her arms are crossed. and about 2 inches long right now.

we are elated and completely excited to say the least. we are going to start taking before, during, and after pictures of melissa soon since her belly hasn't changed yet. not sure why it's taken us so long to get around to taking a before. we're special i guess.

Melissa Is Pregnant!

So this is the before picture. just so you all know. Melissa is pregnant! we weren't planning to tell anyone for awhile (reason we got the camera) but word got out somehow and we didn't want to offend people so we just started telling everyone on saturday. if you can't tell, we are so so so so excited!

Happy Halloween

So yes we finally got a camera. because of that, we will now be able to post REAL photos. tonight we went over to my brothers house to see his kids all dressed up for halloween. literally as we pulled up to his house my mom and melissa both said, "that pumpkin is soooo cool". needless to say we were both surprised that they would go to such trouble to carve a pumpkin. we assumed it was heather. turns out carter put himself to work and made it. amazement? yes.

Then we got to see my 5 year old nephew look totally in better shape than all of us. they have got the coolest costumes now! when i was superman as a kid i had to rely on my own poochy physique to fill out my costume. nope, my nephew has foam padding to actually look like a superhero. dang it! kids get everything these days. do you remember back when your family was keeping up with the jones by having a cordless phone. not a cell phone. a cordless phone. nice!

i told him to smile for this one! cutest little kid.

and this is my niece ariel (ashlee) she was like on a total sugar high when i saw her. i got a video and i might post it later. she was pretty much on crack! it was awesome. oh the wonders of free endless candy

Lovin' it

So life is really good right now. I know that there are a few things that i want to change, and because its about work, and i'm that afraid that someone might find this soon or in the distant future i'm not going to write more about what i would change. there have been times in life where i was unhappy for some reason or another because something wasn't going my way. but i could not be happier with how life is going right now. there is nothing i need to change to be happy.

I love my wife so much its ridiculous. i'm not sure how i got along without her before i knew her. i know people may think this is sharing a lot of personal information, for your information, i'm not. the personal stuff is still in me. but i also know if i don't blog i'll never write down anything. and i really want there to be some sort of record. and i like that i can be a little impersonal and update my friends on how we are doing and also catch up every day or 3 on how our friends are doing.

I love our church calling. i love where we are living. i don't have to wear a coat to keep from dying if i'm outside longer than an hour. (not that i am since i work so darn hard) I enjoy working my butt off. i enjoy the work that i do. i'm not sure what it is that is so satisfying about solving problems for people all day and everyone appreciates what you do. except for the people that demand you help them and insist you did it wrong. those people have chosen to not be helped. but that's easy to get over.

anyways. life is so good! i couldn't possibly be happier than i am now. i will be happier in the future i know, cuz life rolls on, but as of right now, i don't think i could have changed anything in the past to make the present better.

Valient 9's

So missy and i finally have a calling. we were called two weeks ago to be primary teachers for the valiant 9's. the greatest part about this in my point of view is that one of the kids in our class is our next door neighbor who i've known his entire life. he is the coolest kid ever.

today was our first day teaching the class. missy prepared the lesson, and i was in charge this week of trying to keep them quiet and under control. it was going pretty good til... the old teachers came in, half way through with a pizza from costco for the kids. yeah. lesson over.

i'm not sure if i'm really glad they came or not. a part of me was kinda pissed. another part of me was like, sweet. we just have to eat and we're done with our job. i'm sure their parents weren't happy to get home and one of their kids was totally full for some strange reason. i was kinda glad to see the interaction that the old teachers had with the kids. i kinda want to have that sort of relationship with these kids. cuz our kids are AWESOME.

anyways. life could not be better. everyday i wake up and think how nothing could make my life any happier than it is right now. so i must be doing something right. right?

Christmas shopping

so yes, this is the first year ever that i have shopped for christmas two weeks or earlier before Christmas. and yes, i know it's flippin october. the reason i did it so early is because of where i work. its really hard not to buy some clothes every week.

so today, my mother-in-law had me order stuff for her extended family. and because i can't guarentee that any style is in the warehouse i had to be the one that decided the final style on most of the purchases. so she just told me what type of item she wanted, the size and the style. with some of them she pointed out what she liked for each one so i tried to stick to themes which was fun to.

so yeah, it was so cool how much flippin stuff i got for so freakin cheap. so i'm inviting all of you, if you want. you have to be my friend obviously, and i can get you any thing that is not in the warehouse. but the deal is you can get anything that is o'neill or lost (just no wetsuits, sorry). take the MSRP price, subtract 2 bucks and divide that number in half. now take 20% off of that price. any takers?

Laguna Beach

Okay, So today i saw a celebrity. my first real experience with it. it was interesting. I texted brittany cuz i knew melissa wouldn't know who it was.... i said.

"Brittany, i'm eating lunch at the same place as LC from Laguna Beach". she said i should take a picture of "the hills" star. since i only know faces i knew i had the wrong name because the face i saw is not on "the hills". the face of the celebrity i saw was this one.

my very informed sister notified me this stars name is kristin (is that right brittany?) anyways. if you want to praise me cuz i've seen a star, you may do so in comments. go ahead.

CPK

So we got a call from Jessica Price and she invites us to do a date night with them on friday night. Melissa and I show up, and it was so much fun!!! I didn't realize who was going to be coming. It was so much fun to be there with friends I had had for forever and Melissa could finally get to know them! It was Jessica, Tara, Jaime, and Michelle and their respective spouses. the only person that was missing, probably the most important, was Brittany.

And can i say, CPK is soo good! and why is it they do not have 1 decent dessert. all their desserts suck! everything else is great though. hooray for blogging on monday

La Jolla Group

Okay, so like i said last week, me and melissa got jobs. since melissa isn't writing this, i am going to tell you about what my job has been like.

it's been awesome. i work as a "...LOST Sales support Rep" and i really enjoy it. i go to work everyday in irvine (20 minutes from home) in shorts, t-shirt, and sandals. my trainer has hair down to his shoulders and walks the halls barefoot and curses like a sailor. so yes... i love the atmosphere.

i am responsible for Sales support for Lost in every part of the world except WA and CA. we have so much more volume in california that there are three people splitting california, one in WA and i have the rest of the frickin world. i also found out on friday, that the retard who had my job before i came was fired. he was that bad at his job. man. so yeah. this entire week, my trainers have been asking questions to my boss on how to fix my issues because there were so many stinking problems with my area. it is now all taken care of, but seriously, all i did this week was take care of problems.

i spend a little bit of time trying to arrange wire transfers from puerto rico. stuff like that. crazy. so life is good. i get a great GREAT deal on clothes from o'neill (awesome), lost (awesome), metal mulisha (who cares?) and soon since we just bought the company rusty (awesome).

I'm really thinking that i could stay in action sports business for the rest of my life. i'm pretty stoked to be completely honest.

We got JOBS!

No we did not knock off the famous Steve. We finally have joined the rest of civilized society and are making money. Missy is working for a family as a nanny in Monarch Beach. I am a sales support rep at Oneill, Rusty, Metal Mulisha, and ...lost. so yeah. not much else to report. oh wait there is!

SOUTH DAKOTA IS FLAT!

Missy's brother got married on September 1st. and since we are family and he came to our wedding we went to his. it was in SOUTH DAKOTA! so we went to the wedding and met the entire population of south dakota. okay not really... but close since the whole wedding was about 150 people. which is what i hear the population of sd is anyways. okay so we go to an airport that is the biggest airport in south dakota. souix falls. we land and the biggest building you can see for MILES around is not even three stories tall. and this is the biggest building in the biggest city of south dakota. seriously.... amazing.

like how this map shows its all deserted... the little red dot on the bottom right is souix falls. the wedding was the red dot on the top right.

but hey the wedding was fun. watching 150 people get drunk and remind you every 10 minutes that the only thing to do in SD is drink, was kinda fun. i had never heard this rendition of "the chicken dance" but when it came to the end of the chorus part, (when you clap your hands four times) the whole group would scream the phrase... "WE WANT MORE BEER!"

so yes.. tons of fun!

So. seeing as i (tyler) am looking for a job, i don't have a ton to do during the day. i post resumes online on company websites. so i started organizing all the video and pictures files from Lake Powell.

So i ask you this. why is it, my favorite video clips are of anyone totally wiping out. i was organizing all the files when melissa walked in with her two brothers and the only videos i ended up showing them was the really bad crashes. we all laughed and stuff. but seriously. (okay, not too serious) why am i fascinated by ABSOLUTE failure in extreme sports. could it be men were not meant to be succesful at extreme sports. seems like most extreme sports were born from two guys that were thinking, how can i make this easier sport... harder but COOLER.

i think thats where jackass the movie comes in. it just skips the creative sport inventing and goes straight for the crashes. i think the only thing that is better than a really good crash is something that really under normal laws of physics should have been a really bad crash, but the "athlete" somehow pulls something out his rear and lands it.

like when tony hawke landed the first 1080. or the first motocross backflip. or danny way clearing the great wall of china. it should not have been done, but somehow they did it.

so without further adue (how does one spell that?) i give you my two favorite crashes. number 2 (the first one you see as you scroll down) is my brother in law joe. he got in the boat after this doosy.

We're BACK! not from the future

So i'm not sure if i alluded to it in my last post. cuz i can't see it from the page that i'm writing on right now. but me and melissa just got back from lake powell with her family and another family that they are really good friends with. seriously... what an event. i never would have thought that the following things would happen.
1. i would help fix a boats engine by removing and replacing faulty spark plugs
2. i would break that same boats towline while trying to get up wakeboarding
3. i would in the process of breaking the towline, compeletly remove the back row of seats on that boat
4. i would do switch while wakeboarding
5. would attempt my first jump wakeboarding and actually think the fall was soft
6. would have to take advil nonstop (6 a day) so i could function during day and sleep at night
7. be showed up by my wife in an extreme sport such as wakeboarding (i'm not being cute, she really did rip me a hole)
8. would be caught in the 75' houseboat as it spun out of control because of dangerous winds almost hitting a gas station (no i wasn't driving)
9. would be on that same houseboat when it ran aground because we were trying to get to the marina at night (again not driving)
10. would be the sole person to run around and find any spot underneath the holds of the boat that could now be leaking water
11. would have to stop the car over 5 times because while said boat was being towed it would fall apart on the highway not matter how many tiedowns we added.
12. would be with my sweetheart the entire time thinking how wonderful life really is

i'm really tired. it's 1am. so i'm going to leave it at that and post videos and pictures of our lake powell trip later. and yes the pictures of the wedding are forthcoming. i promise

We found a house!

so its true. i have no job. melissa has no job. we are without jobs. because of the no job thing, we also have no income. which is somewhat important when it comes to paying for housing, bills, food, that sort of thing. so can you take a wild guess at who is moving in with my parents.

but as missy just told me. it will be great to finally know the Owens'. really spend time with the people and get to know the real them. i on the other hand don't care that much. lived there a lot. lived in provo a lot. just somewhere to put a pillow and sleep. but hey, what can i expect, i have no job.

missy i think has found a job though. interviewing with the employer tomorrow. that should be good. finally have an income! way to go wife! i want one of those job thingy's. and i thought having a B.S. would actually open doors. SIKE!

Married! Now what?

So I'm sitting here on our brand new loveseat enjoying the beach breeze as it blows through our apartment, while I know that Missy is at crate and barrell or target returning stuff or buying stuff to help us finish moving into our apartment. even though according to the landlords the official move in date was june 29th i think. It's not like its a big apartment either. it's a studio. yep, that's right. no bedroom just a living room that we, huh, live in and sleep in.

But in all seriousness it's fun. life is so good! we finally got the pictures of the wedding back. grand total 1,387. stinking too many to flip through. to show our families we put it into a slideshow running at 1 second per picture and the show took more than 10 minutes. ridiculous! ha. so yeah, i'm still looking for a job and so is missy. living off our parents for now. i have a few career opportunities but since the last 2 or 3 haven't worked out as planned i'm not gonna say anything about them so as not to jinx it.
