When is this baby coming?

I went in for 20 wk. ultrasound/checkup last week and found out that the baby (still a boy) is growing 12 days ahead of where he should be according to my due date, but that was when she thought that she told me that I was due on Aug 1, I'm due Aug 7. She decided to keep my due date the same, but was just letting me know that this baby might be coming a little earlier than we had expected.

So anyone who knows me knows that I'm not always the most patient (when I was little I would unwrap my Christmas presents, ever so carefully, weeks ahead of time and then wrap the back up; and then I married someone who did the exact same thing). Anyway, I come home from that doctors appointment and just start thinking that

... oh gosh... Abby came a week early .... but she tried to come 2 weeks early ... (was that a braxton hicks?) .... and if the baby's growing 12 days ahead .... 12 days is almost 2 weeks ... and then if I add the week between Aug 1 and Aug 7 ... (there was another braxton hicks) .... that's like 5 weeks ... No way! ... (Maybe these aren't braxton Hicks and I'm going into labor ... no ... too early for that) .... This baby is gonna be here .... like the beginning of July ... that means that I might only have 15 weeks left ... woohoo! ... I'm already 25 weeks! ... dang ... I look good for 25 weeks:)

But then, after I have week to cool off, (and realize I'm imagining braxton hicks) I finally start thinking... maybe I should just have everything together and ready... just in case, but plan for the baby coming mid Aug and then nobody has to deal with me being an overly emotional, overdue prego if I make it to August.... but who am I kidding?

poor Tyler.....

Surprise!

A lot has been going on the last couple of months, it's been so fun and exciting:) First, we found out that Abigail is going to be a Big Sister! We've known for a little while and been trying to keep it pretty quite and just among family until I was further along. I went in for a check-up (16wk) on Thursday and found out...we're having a little BOY! I couldn't be more excited, I'm gonna have one of each!
I really had it stuck in my head that we were gonna be having a girl and it made sense; Abigail will maybe be 14 months when this one comes (he's due Aug. 7 & she was born June 14- a week early); they would have a lot of the same friends, it'd work out great with clothes, and they would be fine sharing a room for forever.
I wasn't even letting myself think that it could possibly be a boy. I just can't stop thinking about it. I was sure that Abby was gonna be a boy, even after we had a couple ultrasounds that said she was a girl. Not that I have anything against girls; honestly, I'm a little jealous of Abby I always wished that I had a twin brother or at least one that was a little closer to my age. I'm just excited that our little family is growing.

It's a GIRL!

Our little girl has arrived! We have been and still are really busy with taking care of our new little girl so I won't post photos yet. But we will soon. She is so adorable and cute and we both can't stop looking at her.

On Friday night Missy was having contractions about a 3 minutes apart and they were strong enough to not be able to talk through them. We went into the hospital, and when we got their, her contractions moved back to every 10 minutes (which is where she was for the past 2 weeks.)

When they checked Missy's heart rate and pressure, they found her pressure to be a little high. She also had all the bad symptoms like a headache, seeing spots, stuff like that. They did a blood test on Missy to see how bad this problem was.

An hour after taking her blood, our attending nurse walked in with an ARM LOAD of medical supplies explaining the situation. Missy's blood pressure was definetely high and the doctor thought it would be safer to just induce instead of waiting for the BP to get worse. So Missy was induced at 10pm while she was dilated to 3 cm.

at 12am on June 14th her contractions got bad enough that Missy asked for an epidural. Right after the epidural (which took 3 minutes) they checked Missy and found her to be at 4 cm.

Missy than fell asleep while I walked around the hospital, went to get some food, talked with my sister and mom. Glad the person giving birth could sleep because I surely could not.

They checked her at 2am and found her to be at 8cm. and then at 3am she was at 10 and all ready to go. The nurse had her practicing pushing so the baby was really close to coming out and then called the doctor (she pushed through about 3 contractions when the nurse called for the doctor).

The doctor was sleeping at home, so Missy slept while we waited the 30 minutes for the doctor to get there and get all suited up to go. Missy woke up and started to push and within 3 contractions our little girl had arrived. she weighed 7 lbs. 5 oz. and was 17.5 inches long.

Everything went perfectly and we could not have asked for anything to go better. We really feel blessed with our new little girl and can't wait to introduce you to her.

Get Her Out of Me!

A lot has happened the last couple weeks, for starters, I went for a doctors appointment on the 3rd (2 1/2 weeks before the due date) and found out that I was already 2cm dilated and 50% effaced.

My doctor said that this was a really good sign and that I should come back in a week, but she doubted that I'd make it. Last Friday night, the 6th, I started having contractions every 7-8 minutes for a 90 minutes, and then they started coming every 4-5 minutes for an hour.

That's when we decided to go to the hospital. Once we got there, the nurse checked me & I was 3cm 70%. After that I didn't have any hint of a contraction for 40 minutes, and then just really small ones, the nurse checked me again and I hadn't changed at all so they sent us home... kind of a bummer but it made for a good practice run:)

I went back to the doctor on Tuesday, the 10th and I was 2-3 cm 50% (I didn't go backwards, my doctor and the nurse at the hospital just didn't agree- which was a bummer, but better than going backwards!)

She said that she was really surprised that I had made it that far and would have sworn that I was gonna have the baby by Thursday or Friday.

So, now that Tyler & I have been to the hospital and know that the baby could be here within a couple hours, we're getting very impatient. The worst part is that this could go on for another 2 weeks...

Right now I'm getting contractions every 4 minutes and they've been coming for just over an hour, but they're not painful, unless I try moving. So, I'm trying to distract myself and am not doing a very good job at it
.

Well, now I'm gonna watch a movie and we'll blog as soon as the baby gets here! (You have to wait for it too!)
