It's a Girl!

We went in for our "high definition" ultrasound this morning going into it, I was fairly certain that we were going to find out that the little peanut was a boy, even though during our regular check up on Friday the ob/gyn told us that it was probably a girl. What must have happened was that while we were looking at peanut's underneath she must've taken a whack at the umbilical cord (she has quite the arm), because for just half a second there was what looked very much like boy parts.
So what I'm kinda figuring is that she knew exactly what we were looking at and for, got bored and thought, "Golly, What would Grandpa do if he were in this situation?" got a big smile on her face as she wound up and whacked the cord. She must have spent the next couple of minutes busting up and laughing as the doctor poked around searching for what we were all sure we had just seen. Anyway, I'm sure the great-grandparents are getting a kick going through all of the play-by-plays.
I really got scared at first thinking about raising a girl, I've always thought I would be more of a "boy mom". But now after thinking about it for a couple of hours, I am so excited! This really is gonna be soo much fun! Plus, I'm gonna get years of 'free' entertainment.

Aww, I'm so happy for you guys...and I'm a little jealous. I really want to do the baby thing now! I don't want to wait another two years...but alas, I suppose I should wait until at least one of us has graduated. I'll have to visit with and hold your baby lots once you have her to get my baby fix.
